Visual design is everywhere—on websites, posters, apps, resumes, and more. This guide introduces 5 fundamental concepts in visual design that should be learnt and applied by everyone. It shows why design matters and provides tips to use these principles in our daily lives.

"Form follows function" is a design principle coined by the American architect Louis Sullivan. However, I argue that in a world full of information, products, and evolving technology, "form over function" is more relevant today than ever. Function should be a standard; "form over function" pushes us to create more diverse, beautiful and innovative creations that we love.
